“Actually, Did We Win This Election: The Inside Story of How Trump Lost,” is a new book by Wall Street Journal reporter Michael Bender. According to the Daily Mail, which obtained excerpts from the upcoming book, Bender said Trump insulted Giuliani, despite the fact the former New York City mayor was one of his closest confidants.
Bender claimed that Trump mocked Giuliani for sleeping in meetings and severely punished Giuliani in TV interviews. In one case, Trump allegedly told Giuliani that he was “sucked in” and “weak” after Giuliani defended him in the wake of Trump’s infamous “Access Hollywood” fair tape, per VozWire.
In the book, Bender is accused of saying the West Wing aide, “Never wanted to leave Rudy. If you’re between Rudy and the president, look for him. You’ll be trampled on.” This behavior apparently showed up after Giuliani’s license to practice law was suspended, when he appeared on the right-wing NewsMax network and said he was “not happy” with the decision. “All I can say is, America is no longer America,” Giuliani added. “We don’t live in an independent state. We live in a state controlled by the Democrat Party,” Giuliani said (via Insider).
Despite what Trump allegedly said to Giuliani, he thus defended him before recently after the FBI raid, per Politico.
