The title of the book has not yet been announced, but CNN learned that it will be published on Sept. 21 by Simon & Schuster, who published Woodward’s first two bestsellers with the former President.

This time, the dual Pulitzer Prize -winning announcer is working with Robert Costa of The Washington Post for a broad look at the end of Trump’s presidency and its transition to the Biden administration. According to a description from the publisher, the book will span the first months of Biden’s presidency.

Woodward’s first book on Trump, “Fear,” of 2018 details steps taken by top officials and White House aides to avoid what they see as an unscrupulous president, unable to control his own impulse, and unaware of how much risk his decisions might bring. “Rage,” which came out last year, brought readers inside the Oval Office in the early days of the coronavirus pandemic, confirming that Trump understood how long and deadly the virus was before American citizens realized it. Trump refused to sit down for an interview with Woodward for “Fear,” but he gave the journalist unprecedented access for “Rage,” which provides 18 independent interviews, some in person and many over the phone. . It’s unclear if Trump agreed to give Woodward and Costa interviews for the upcoming book, but the pair sat with Trump on the campaign track during the 2016 presidential election. That interview served as inspiration for same title of Woodward’s earlier books.

“The real power is, I don’t want to use the word, fear,” Trump told Woodward and Costa in March 2016.

“I’m venting my anger,” Trump also said. “I vent my anger. I always have. I don’t know if that’s an asset or a liability, but whatever it is, I do.”
