JD Vance said he regrets the deleted tweets criticizing Trump

Like many people, I criticized Trump in 2016, Vance said. And I ask people not to judge me based on what I said in 2016, because I’ve been open that I said those critical things and I’m sorry for them, and I’m sorry I was wrong with the guy. I think he was a good president, I think he made a lot of good decisions for the people, and I think he received a lot.

Vance added that he himself has been criticized for standing up for the president’s former voters and agenda, saying, I think that’s the most important thing, isn’t what you said five years ago, but if you want to stand up and take over. the heat and take the hits for really defending the interests of American citizens.

The GOP candidate went on to say he was sure his main challengers would use his deleted tweets against him, adding that he thought they had baggage they had in relation to Trump and other issues.

The Ohio Senate primary is currently overflowing with candidates before Sen. Rob Portmans ’retirement in 2022, making Trump’s endorsement even more appealing for those in the race.
