Donald Lenn Shepherd

September 26, 1959 – July 3, 2021

ROCKPORT, Texas Donald Lenn Shepherd (Lenny), died peacefully at his home in Rockport on July 3, 2021.

Lenny was born September 26, 1959, and grew up in McCook, Neb. He graduated from McCook High School in 1978 and attended Kearney State College, earning a bachelor of science in business in 1981. While living in McCook, he worked construction with his father and best friend at Don Shepherd Construction. When his father retired, Lenny moved to Lincoln, Neb. He worked in property management before returning to McCook and building a one-man carpenter / construction business called Shepherd Construction.

Lenny was a faithful son and brother who helped care for his father until his death in early 2000. In 2001 he moved his business to Rockport, Texas where in his own words he would live. he at the time of the island.

Lenny was a kind, loving man who never met a stranger. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and these remained his passions in life.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Hiram and Bertha Clapp, Lenny and Cecilia Shepherd; her parents, Patricia Clapp Shepherd and Donald D. Shepherd.

He is left by his sister, Susan Shepherd and sister -in -law, Alice Hannon, Kansas City, Mo. his Aunt and Uncle Cornell and Brenda Clapp, St. Augustine, Fla. her aunt, Deila Kalinski, Tacoma, Wash; his godfather, MaryJo Weigand, Murrieta, Calif .; many cousins, dear friends and neighbors in Rockport.

Lennys’ ashes will be placed at St. Albans Episcopal Church in McCook, Neb. Memory service to be announced later.
