A former House Republican who led multiple investigations into the Bill and Hillary Clintons scandals is urging prosecutors to subpoena the records of top officials and family members of former President Donald Trump to determine if they were involved in the riot. on Jan. 6 at the capitol.

Comstock called on Trump’s team grifters for seeking to fundraise election claims in 2020.

And he called on those who believe in the claims to be so eager that Trump will run for a second term.

They want to keep the grift. They want to continue to make money with this whole big lie, he said. These people are all making money from the suckers who are there sending their donations of $ 25 and $ 50 a month because they are convinced the election was stolen. So that’s why I told my fellow Republicans, you have people who continue to be victims of Donald Trump and his, you know, group of grifters, and you owe it to your constituents to stand up and tell the truth and tell these people [to] stop sending your $ 25 and $ 50 for someone who just used it, you know, continue the big lie that has nothing to do with him coming back to the office. Because he wouldn’t think I wouldn’t run.

Comstock lost the 2018 midterm election which targeted Republicans for any link to Trump. He’s upset with her on issues, but his district is already trending pro-Democrat.

Prior to his election, he was a Justice Department official in the Bush administration and investigated the Clintons as a GOP House staffer.

He said those investigations were facilitated because former staff took basic information at home that was easily subpoenaed.

I don’t understand why they haven’t subpoenaed things yet because there are existing committees that may have subpoenaed things. And I did investigations in the 90s of the Clinton administration, and one of the things we did that proved to be very effective was the people who left the White House that we knew chances were they took documents with them, “said.” I think that’s likely to happen in the case of the Trump people because they’re all afraid of each other.
