Former Republican President Donald Trump told conservative talk show host Bill O’Reilly that efforts to combat global warming will not work because the rest of the world is “dirty.”

Trump made his comment in an interview Thursday. O’Reilly asked him about rising gas costs under the administration of Democratic President Joe Biden. Trump blames Biden’s policies on the current cost increase. Trump criticized Biden’s attempts to combat global warming and climate change.

“We can have all the global warming things we want to do. We can do everything we want, but you still have the rest of the world dirty,” Trump said. “And China sends a lot, and India, our best friend India, they send smoke and things, tastes that you haven’t seen before.”

Trump also said China is in the process of “building hundreds and hundreds” of coal-fired plants as similar plants close in the U.S. China is building power plants to be killed by charcoal at a rate that exceeds all other countries in the world combined. , according to the Yale School of the Environment.

“And we’re going to go to the stupid windmills that are destroying our countryside,” Trump continued. “They’re the most dumb and they love it.”

Trump does not believe in climate change. He called global warming a hoax invented by the Chinese government to make US manufacturing uncompetitive.

Throughout his presidency, Trump has halted efforts to mitigate climate change. He continued to downplay the industry’s impact on climate change, claiming that cool weather conditions do not condone global warming.

The agreement required 195 of its countries to sign to significantly reduce their global greenhouse gas emissions. Trump’s withdrawal from the deal was the only country in the U.S. not to participate. On his first day in office, Biden rejoined the Paris Agreement.

Trump and other Republicans said the Paris Agreement failed to hold major polluters, such as China and India, accountable. The agreement requires countries to set and report their own exit goals. However, the agreement has no enforcement mechanism beyond naming and disgracing countries that have failed to meet the objectives.
