Donald ‘Donnie’ Ray Blankenship

July 2, 1958 – July 5, 2021

Donald “Donnie” Ray Blankenship, of Stephenson, WV, was born July 2, 1958 in Mullens, WV to his parents Luther G. Blankenship and Janet Marie (Hash) Meadows. He died unexpectedly on July 5, 2021 at the age of 63. Donnie was preceded by the deaths of his parents Luther Blankenship and Janet Meadows and his brother Jay Blankenship. He is survived by his daughter Leslie (Alejandro) Sanchez; 3 grandchildren Isaac, Vivian, and Vinny; sisters Sandra K. Puckett and Lisa G. Lambert; her very special cousin Ike (Barbara) Blankenship; and many relatives and friends who will miss him. Donnie loves to be outdoors riding motorcycles and four wheels. He liked to work with his hands in gardening and completing carpentry work and enjoyed fishing and hunting. The family will receive friends for a visit on Saturday, July 10, 2021 from 11 am – 1 pm with a funeral service at 1:00 pm at Melton Mortuary and Cremation Center Chapel with Rev. Fr. Auston McClary in charge. The interment will be followed by services at the Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
