Katie Britt deleted Trump’s comment that he wasn’t what Alabama wanted for the U.S. Senate

Former President Donald Trump today confirmed his endorsement of Rep. Mo Brooks to fill the U.S. Senate seat that retired Richard Shelby and attacked Shelbys former chief of staff Katie Britt.

Trump, in a statement, said Britt, who previously served as president of the Alabama Business Council, is not what Alabama wants for the Senate.

He doesn’t qualify in any way and he’s certainly not what our country needs, Trumps statement continued. For Mitch McConnell wasting money on his campaign is absolutely too much. Vote for Mo Brooks!

In his statement, Trump referred to McConnell as Old Crow, Shelby as an RINO and Britt as Shelbys assistant.

Responding to Trumps ’statement, Britt said: I don’t need anyone else to fight my fight, and as the next U.S. Senator of Alabamas, I won’t be a rubber stamp for anyone. I’m proud that over 90% of the $ 2.24 million we raised in June came from Alabamians, because that’s what will work and represent every single day.

What is seen today is a reaction to the incredible momentum that continues to build for our campaign. My opponent (Brooks) is obviously shocked; he was elected to office for 40 years, but the people of Alabama were eager for a truly conservative choice and someone to bring change to DC My opponent lost statewide in 2006. He lost again statewide in 2017. And he will be gone in 2022, because our Alabama First team is on the road to victory.
