ESPYs obviously happened … did Aaron Donald win?

[ad_1]

So obviously the ESPY Award ceremony was held Saturday night, and Tom Brady beat Aaron Donald for the honor of NFLs Best Player. From what I heard. ESPYs (Sports Performance Excellence Year is what ESPN thought of as a way to make ESPY an acronym) the world’s leading sports attempt for several ratings in the summer and i’m not sure how that’s going to happen but in case you’re interested in keeping tabs on Donalds tributes, this is the one he didn’t get.

Brady beat Donald, MVP Aaron Rodgers, and 2,000-yard rusher Derrick Henry to be named ESPN’s best NFL player.

Donald won Defensive Player of the Year for the third time in 2020, after winning awards in 2017 and 2018. Donald was also the NFLs Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2014 and he was named a first team All-Pro in each one of the last six seasons. Donald had 13.5 sacks and 28 QB hits last season and his Adjusted Value 20 (Pro-Football-Reference player tool for value) is first in the NFL, while Brady recorded 15 in that category.

Henry and Rodgers each have 17 AV.

Aaron Donald didn’t win an ESPY on Saturday night, but it’s also probably the first time you’ve heard who was nominated.
