DALLAS Donald Trump landed in Dallas on Sunday spinning a tall story about the 2020 election and the crowd that crowded the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6 hoping to keep him in the White House despite his defeat.
No evidence? There is so much evidence, he asserted at the Conservative Political Action Conference, discussing complaints that he was cheated by a second term because of a complicated election and started chanting four more years from thousands of activists who he wanted to go back and most assumed he was angling to do so.
Hitting the crowd in a frenzy, he vowed that once Republicans restore Congress in the 2022 midterms, we will bring back the glorious White House that sits so well in our nation’s capital.
Trump’s appearance at the Hilton Anatole was part of a re-emergence from Jan. 20, when he retreated to his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida in the final hours of his presidency.
At the CPAC and a couple of recent rallies, Trump sought to raise his profile, settle scores, and keep supporters motivated and potential 2024 rivals muted.
Check out all the fake news of the people there, he said, peering into the bank lights of the TV cameras.
At the hint, the crowd booed, enjoying the first of many greatest hits from Trump’s rally playing list. For the next 95 minutes he countered the culture of left -wing cancellation, the radically left behind Marxist maniacs and illegal leakers.
He needled President Joe Biden for going senile and Big Tech as overbearing losers.

Estimates put the crowd that day at no more than 50,000, no more than a million. Of those, thousands besieged the Capitol, putting glass on windows and doors, attacking police with flagpoles, bicycle racks, hockey sticks and pepper spray and showing lawmakers hiding a lot time.
Trump led the CPAC straw poll for the 2024 GOP nomination, beating Florida Governor Ron DeSantis 70-21. If Trump chooses not to run, DeSantis will be the top pick for 68% of attendees.
Trumps approval rating: 98%. Bidens disapproval rating, for comparison: 97%.
We have a different party than we did five years ago, said Trump, who surrendered to the CPAC in March 2016, when conservative activists pleaded for anyone other than him as a GOP nominee.
Introducing Trump to Dallas, the leader of the American Conservative Union, Matt Schlapp, called him the biggest player of impact in our movement.
Despite efforts by the social media giants to cancel him prompting a series of actions by Trump against Facebook, Twitter and Google joined by the American Conservative Union he was simply complacent and silent, Schlapp said.

George W. Bush waited several years after leaving office before weighing in publicly on any political fights. Barack Obama played an active role in the 2018 midterms, two years after leaving the position, and last year helped his vice president defeat Trump.
Trump started what some called a revenge tour earlier.
His rally in Ohio was on the racetrack of one of 10 Republicans who voted to impeach him for inciting unrest on Jan. 6; Trump called him an amazing RINO [Republican in name only].
Trump used his rally in Sarasota to denounce a blatant accusation against the Trump Organization and its longtime finance chief of massive tax evasion. He called it prosecutorial misconduct while effectively accepting the factual allegation: They followed the good, hard-working man for not paying tax on a company car … or a company apartment … or education for your grandchildren.
In Dallas, as in previous shows, Trump treated supporters with a litany of grievance.
He is proud that he got a cognitive test in early 2018 administered by the U.S. Republican Rep. Ronny Jackson of Texas, then the White House physician. What do you think Joe will do on a cognitive test? he said.
He complained that his friend and lawyer Rudy Giuliani had lost his license to law, even temporarily, for pushing baseless claims about election fraud.
He complained that his attorney general, Bill Barr, refused to return his baseless election claims or assign the Department of Justice to engage in a fishing expedition for evidence.
He complained that more than two years after Barr tapped Connecticut U.S. Attorney John Durham to find out the origins of the Trump-Russia FBIs investigation, that inquiry did not bear fruit.
He challenged the chief impeachment manager Rep. Adam Schiff, who insisted that what Shifty Schiff was saying was pure bull —.
He accused Democrats of threatening U.S. energy supremacy. We don’t need windmills in Texas, he declared, seemingly unaware that wind accounts for nearly one-fifth of the states ’electricity, or that Texas produces more wind power than any other state. .
And he downplayed the violence on Jan. 6, when thousands of frenzied supporters rushed to the U.S. Capitol at his urging, in hopes of preventing Congress from validating the election.
People who are patriotic or conservative or Republicans, they will stay in jail for a long time, he complains.
Some of the patriots are calling for the deaths of Vice President Mike Pence and Speaker Nancy Pelosi. One eye disappeared from the eye. More than 500 rioters are facing criminal charges and federal authorities are still hunting down hundreds more.
In Fox News hours before taking the stage at the CPAC, Trump complained that the evil assassins in the antifa movement and Black Lives Matter were treated more severely than his peaceful supporters who rushed to the Capitol.
There are no guns and they still have people incarcerated, Trump said. This is not right. And they were citizens, and they were police officers, and they were construction workers. And they have a huge crowd.
The Pelosis office denounced Trump for attempting to whiten on Jan. 6 with inspiring lies.
Who shot Ashli Babbitt? Why are they keeping that secret? Trump told Fox. Who is the person who shot [this] innocent, wonderful, incredible woman, a military woman, in the head? And there are no repercussions.
The video shows Babbitt was not there. He and other rioters tried to pass through a barricaded door to the Speaker’s Lobby, a restricted area next to the Chamber chamber. He was shot while trying to climb up the broken side of the door.
Trump insulted that the shooter, who has not been identified, was head of security for a certain high -ranking official, a Democrat. … It will come out.
Those who attended the CPAC were among the least fired Republican activists, and since Ronald Reagans ’headline appeared at the first rally held in 1974, candidates have seen it as an important stop on the road to the White House.
There were several empty seats in a large ballroom that was empty for most of the three -day conference. MAGA red hats are plentiful.
Like Trump critic Joe Walsh, a former GOP congressman, who put it first at the Sarasota rally, Trump supporters already know he is a tax fraudster, a liar, a law breaker and a goofy . They do not care.
