Trump Hung Out With Aerosmith’s Joe Perry Instead of Preparing for His First GOP Debate

Donald Trump insulted Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry an hour before the first GOP presidential debate in 2015, shattering the unconventional love affair in a statement about casual sex.

The unexpected meeting ended on a sour note, according to Insider’s thorough oral history about Trump’s take on the Republican party, after the “playboy” style glorified by groupie culture.

“On walking out the door, Trump said about,‘ The rock stars have all the women, ’that Perry seemed angry, because he’s been married for decades and takes all that stuff seriously,” advice then to Trump general adviser Donald McGahn told Insider about things going on somewhere minutes before Trump’s first rhetorical slugfest with other Republicans fighting for the presidency.

The bi-married Perry had been with his second wife Billie Paulette Montgomery for 30 years at that point. They are still together.

Perry could have avoided the aggravation if it weren’t for the ongoing one-upmanship with teammate and “Toxic Twin” Steven Tyler.

The legendary band is already in town to perform at the 2015 Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Festival in neighboring Canton, Ohio. Tyler, according to reports, scored tickets to attend the GOP debate as Trump’s guest.

His band’s unwillingness to be promoted likely led to Perry pitching a last -minute meeting with McGahn, who announced the offer to then -campaign manager Corey Lewandowski as the team led Cleveland.

“So we sat there with Aerosmith about an hour before the debate, exchanging Aerosmith’s stories as opposed to doing the prep debate,” Lewandowski said of the surreal soire.

Aerosmith did not immediately respond to Insider’s request for comment about the unfortunate incident.

The difficult integration didn’t even benefit Trump’s campaign playlist.

Tyler repeatedly warned Trump about the explosion of Aerosmith songs at his political rallies, initiating the campaign with multiple stops and stop letters in 2015 and 2018.
