Died at the death of Donald Ivan Neuenschwander

Donald was born on May 2, 1946, in Shelton, Washington, to Stella (Ellison) and Ivan D. Neuenschwander. He died July 11, 2021, in Tumwater, Washington.

Don graduated from Shelton High School in 1964 and completed an undergraduate and graduate degree at Washington State University. After graduation, he taught English in Germany and Austria. Back in the US, he taught German at Harrington, Washington, at Washington State University, Shelton High School, and in the Olympia School District, where he also taught Spanish.

In 1983, he married Carol Weaver and their friendship continued after their divorce in 2009. He loved playing guitar and singing, riding his bike (along with a trip around the loop on Highway 101), reading, and spending time with friends and family.

He was survived by his son, Ivan K. Neuenschwander of Olympia, Washington.

The family suggests that memorials be held at the Thurston County Humane Society, 3403 Steamboat Island Road NW, Olympia, WA 98502; or Lucky Paws, PO Box 44103, Tacoma, WA 98448.
