Donald Trump blew up the British Open for avoiding his magical golf course in Scotland after losing the PGA Championship in NJ

Don at Bedminster had a few things to get down to his chest while watching The Open over the weekend.

Former President Donald J. Trump fired a lengthy statement criticizing the Royal and Ancients ’decision to stay on his Turnberry, Scotland, course for recent and future missive competition coming six months after the 2022 PGA Championship removed from Trump National in Somerset County following the Jan. 6 riot in the capitol.

It’s truly a magical place, players want to be there, and at certain times in time the players are there. But this course was not chosen for The Open because they considered a wonderful man, and many times Champion at the Club, named Donald J. Trump, to be too controversial, the statement was partially read.

Turnberry has hosted The Open four times, the most recent year being 2009. Trump bought the course in 2014. R&A has previously said they will not return the contest to the Trumps course until it is convinced the focus is in the championship, the players and the course itself [the R&A does not] believes this can be achieved in current circumstances, according to Golf Digest.

The New York Times reported in July 2020 that Trump tried to get Jets owner Woody Johnson, then the U.S. Ambassador to the United Kingdom, to help convince R&A to award The Open to Turnberry.

R&A has already selected host courses for The Open until 2024. The PGA has already selected Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa, Oklahoma, as a replacement venue for the 2022 PGA Championship. Baltusrol Golf Club in Springfield is scheduled to host the 2029 tournament.

Trump owns 17 golf courses in total, including three in New Jersey. The former president also owns Trump National Colts Neck and Trump National Philadelphia (which are actually in Pine Hill) in addition to his main course at Bedminster which also serves as his summer residence.

Colin Morikawa won the 2021 Open title on Sunday, ending the tournament by 15 strokes under par.
