Trump, DeSantis ’top survey of key NH GOP voters

Sens. Ted Cruz (R-Tx.), Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) And Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) Each polled 2 percent or less, as did South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem. Interestingly, Pence is the only one with no positive net favoring likely major voters, further evidence that Republicans got him after the Jan. 6 events.

Nine percent of respondents said their preferred choice was someone other than the one named by the pollsters, and 10 percent said they had not decided. The poll analyzed 770 likely major Republican voters between July 15-19 and had a margin of error of 3.5 percent.

The findings in New Hampshire are more on track with other early Republican polls of the 2024 scene, with the former president looming in the field and DeSantis standing at the top if Trump is to be in the picture.

Nearly 70 percent of New Hampshire Republicans surveyed said they want Trump to run again in 2024. That enthusiasm is not shared by those outside the GOP; the poll found that only 18 percent of independents and 1 percent of Democrats also polled as part of the poll support another Trump bid.
