Donald Frank Johnson, 73, died on Sunday, July 18, 2021, at his residence in Halifax.
Donald was born in Baltimore, Maryland to the late James and Jessie Johnson. He spent his childhood and adult years in Halifax County.
Donald graduated from the Halifax County School System before enlisting in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. After the release, he went home to live with his family.
Donald has worked as a concrete finisher in the local area for many years. She was recently the primary caregiver for her aged mother until her death two years ago.
Donald was preceded by the death of his parents.
He is survived by his twin brother, Ronald, (Juanita) of Halifax; nephew Stephen Corey of North Chesterfield; three aunts Florine Miller, of Baltimore, Edith Edmunds of Halifax and Jugurtha Byrd of Lawrenceville; and a host of cousins and friends.
Public viewing will take place today, July 23, 2021, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Dunn and Son Funeral Services.
Graveside service will be held Saturday, July 24, 2021, at 11 a.m. at New Zion Baptist Church Cemetery, Nathalie, with Rev. Fr. Willie N. Yancey, pastor / eulogist.
