A fan defines Jhoome Jo Pathaan’s song about Lakadi Ki Kathi, calls it “so fitting”. Bollywood

Since the release of the second song Jhoome Jo Pathaan from the upcoming Pathaan movie, fans have been trying to mix it with other songs they think “matches” the dance number featuring Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone. Previously it was a remixed version of the title track from Shah Rukh’s 1999 film Badshaah. Now it’s a recreated tune of the popular children’s song Lakadi Ki Kaathi from the 1983 film Masoom . A Twitter user shared his take on Jhoome Jo Pathaan, layering a recreated version of Lakadi Ki Kaathi over a section where Shah Rukh and Deepika are dancing. He wrote, “So appropriate (rolling on the floor and laughing with emojis).” Other users seemed to agree and replied, “Much better (haha and salute the emojis).” Another commented that it was “well edited” while another added that they “can’t stop laughing”. Another user replied, “Go better with this song (smiley face with sweat and face with tears of joy emojis).”

In Masoom, Lakadi Ki Kaathi song is represented by Urmila Matondkar, Jugal Hansraj and Aradhana Srivastav. The film, which also stars Naseeruddin Shah and Shabana Azmi, features music by RD Burman and lyrics by Gulzar. The composer won his second Filmfare Award for Best Music Director for his score.

Pathaan’s debut song Besharam Rang sparked controversy after it was released earlier this month as a few politicians and celebrities objected to the outfit worn by Deepika. Fans also thought that Besharam Rang sounded too much like director Siddharth Anand’s song Ghunghroo from his previous film War (2019). For Jhoome Jo Pathaan, many were unimpressed with Bosco Martis’ choreographed moves on the second song. A similar situation occurred earlier this year when fans ‘re-released’ Brahmastra’s song Kesariya using other Hindi songs which also seemed to fit perfectly with the number featuring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt.

Shah Rukh and Deepika last worked together in Farah Khan’s Happy New Year in 2014. Pathaan, which also stars John Abraham, will be released on January 25, 2023.
