Nicholas Braun, the actor who plays Cousin Greg on HBO’s hit series ‘Succession’, said he only bought his first Rolex after hearing about the watch brand on the show.

In an interview with the New York TimesAlongside Matthew MacFadyen, who stars in “Succession” as Tom Wambsgans, the pair reflect on Sunday night’s explosive series finale.

After the interviewer noticed and complimented MacFadyen’s watch, the actor said he had always loved the accessory and that his role in “Succession” was not to blame.

For Braun, however, “Succession” is the sole culprit.

“I bought my first Rolex knowing a bit about Rolexes on the show,” Braun said, according to The Times. “My character bought the Rolex Submariner. It got me started.”

In the third season of “Succession”, cousin Greg, who works for a new solo Kendall Roy, chooses the Submariner which starts at $9,100 after believing that Kendall had offered to buy her.

Greg only ends up making the purchase when Kendall shoots him down at the last second and refuses to buy the expensive watch, putting Greg in an awkward position to please the disgruntled supplier who found it and brought it for him. .

MacFadyen weighed in on Braun’s new watch habit.

“I was a pretty good watch adviser to you,” he said, according to The Times. “I tried.”
