Far into northern Europe is the fashion week that has garnered the attention of fashion lovers around the world. Scandinavia isn’t always the first place that comes to mind to be a fashion forward, but Copenhagen has been leading the way with fashion week over the past few years as the region’s top talent is quickly recognized on the world stage.

Held twice a year, Copenhagen Fashion Week, also known as CPHFW is held in January, continuing through February and August each year. Over the years since its inception, organizers have positioned the Danish capital as a center for Nordic fashion, while building a strong platform for the sustainability-centric region, appointing CEO Cecilie Thorsmark as its leader and visionary.

Most recently, CPHFW hosted its spring-summer 2022 show with a mix of live and digital shows filled with twenty-five physical activations and thirteen digital premieres. SS22 has been an incredible season, thanks to brands, trade shows, guests and viewers watching from around the world to witness the catwalk happening live on our streets, Thorsmark noted in a statement.

Several shows launch their collections in the open, in line with CPHFW’s commitment to sustainable fashion. Saks Potts held their show at the former home of Arne Jacobsens, Henrik Vibskov doing their show in the old balloon hangar, and Ganni put on their show in a location unique to Denmark’s snowy winters, on CopenHill’s ski slopes.

The trend of the show shows a strong inclination towards women’s trouser suits. Stine Goya, a Danish designer known for perfecting 70s silk trouser suits makes a striking impression with his collection of spring-colored looks. Rodebjer amazed at creating pink and beige plaid pants.

The CPHFW proved that the trench wasn’t going anywhere. And other trends of khaki raincoats and raincoats with various cuts did not miss the show, from Mark Kenly Domino Tan for raincoats with their colorful outerwear for spring rains. Pajama pieces are also a big part of the collection. Orange and blue is a color palette that looks continuously in his collection.
