Held in the Central Hall Las Vegas Convention Center, Project takes place on August 911 and showcases what’s new, now and then in contemporary men’s and women’s clothing, footwear and accessories.
The gigantic sized show sees familiar exhibitors from the likes of Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein and Nautica mixed with custom and local names Keith James, Australian Bikini Beach and Low flame. Speakers at the three-day event featured famous faces including Kenneth Cole, Giuliana Rancic and Corey Stokes.
For shoppers, Project offers premium denim, multinational clothing brands, and promising start-ups that make admission to the event a must-have. There are also many products that build margins with mid-market labels and opportunities to connect and develop relationships with buyers and other exhibitors.
Some of the new trends being looked at are really chic and out of the box something you don’t see very often when you walk down the street, say owners and buyers. HIS Boutique Andre Barkley.
Yolanda Graham was on the show floor with two other shoppers and scouring the shelves for items that could have been more than one item.
Specializing in looking at different items that are versatile, said Graham, vice president Blurrd Linez Fashion. Some of the modes may be ambidextrous or kind of androgynous. We also look at shoes and styles, not too urban, but also business casual.
Santia Deck is part of MAGIC Mens, part of Project, with his company Tronus, a sports shoe company. Deck is the first female soccer player to sign a multimillion dollar deal with a team, the Los Angeles Fame from Women’s Football League Association.
We put a lot of hard work into it. It’s known as super super light, but you can work out in it too, you can go out in it, go to the club—it’s so versatile, says Deck, CEO of Tronus. I’m very flexible because I’m very feminine, but I’m also a beast on the court, so we had to apply that to the shoe.
The futuristic-looking unisex shoe costs $225 for a limited-edition pair, $135 left and $65 slide. MAGIC Mens gave him the opportunity to make new connections and find new customers.
Lifestyle brand Low flame showcased from a large RV on the showroom floor with CEO Jeff Anderlite in the driver’s seat.
We want to show a lifestyle brand that has a fun mindset, fights boredom [and featuring] quality clothes that are not too expensive that have cute designs and are unique and functional, says Anderlite. Baja Llama is a way to think about every situation you find yourself in.
