Fashion Powerhouse Handsome Launches High-end Beauty Brand oera

SEOUL, August 22 (Korea Bizwire) — South Korean fashion company Handsome Corp. said Sunday it would launch a cosmetics brand for the first time.

Handsome, an affiliate of the Hyundai Department Store Group, said upscale skincare brand oera will open its first store at the department store’s Apgujeong outlet in southern Seoul.

The skincare line with lotions, peels, serums and creams are all manufactured in Switzerland, Handsome said, adding that it will add more beauty products to its lineup later this year.

The flagship product comes with a hefty price tag averaging between 200,000 and 500,000 won (US$422), with the most expensive bottle costing 1.2 million won, Handsome said.

This marks the first time the fashion retailer, founded in 1987, has ventured into another industry.
