Nape RTW and Mens Spring 2022

[ad_1]

Tatsuya Yamashita launched his brand in 2016 and won an award for new designer that same year, but this season marks his first foray into Tokyo Fashion Week. She keeps things simple, with a compact collection of casual unisex pieces that emphasize comfort. Bright prints and contrasting colors offset basic black items, providing a sense of variety.

Main message: The concept of the Nape brand is simple: androgynous. Yamashita exhibits many of the same or similar looks for both men and women: baggy jumpsuits, patterned T-shirts and knee-length shorts appear in various iterations. Some displays use bright, thorough prints that on closer inspection turn out to show piles of colorful trash. Yamashita also uses colorblocking to give the simple shapes a more interesting look. One pair of belted trousers and a short-sleeved shirt were in black, olive green and gray, while another shirt and shorts were a lighter shade of ivory, sky blue, and mustard. One of the highlights is the calf-length stand-up collar shirt made of vertical striped panels in silver and multicolored brown.

Results: While some parts are a bit too basic for the runway, overall it’s a solid first show of genderless and relevant looks that provide ease of movement.
