First United Methodist Church to collect goods for Afghan refugees

WAUSAU, Wis (WSAW) – The First United Methodist Church in Wausau will collect select clothing and duffle bags for Afghan refugees starting Monday.

Items that will be collected include:

o Long-sleeved crew-neck T-shirts and t-shirts

o Men’s trousers (waist 28-32 with long legs)

o Women’s long black skirt with small elastic waist

o Socks and shoes for all ages (no sandals or heels, men’s size

7-9, women’s size 5-8, children’s shoes

o Men’s cotton underwear (no women or children)

Women’s padded sports bra, size SM

o Autumn jackets & winter coats of all ages (used & gently washed)

o Duffle bag, laundry bag

All items must be new in the package. All sizes required are small and medium. Clothing should be dark in color with no markings or prints.

This church is located at 903 3rd St in Wausau. Items will be picked up September 13-23, Monday to Thursday from 8 am to 1 pm

A truck will pick up all donations and deliver them to Fort McCoy.
