US Space Force leans on ‘Galactic Empire’ style with new outfit uniforms

And frankly, it’s about time we learned more about Space Force uniforms given that the service was officially established in 2019. The Pentagon has been tight-lipped about what uniforms for the newest branch of the military look like, even when fake designs were created. rounds on social media.

Last December images of the proposed Space Force uniform were posted on Reddit and left the online military community on edge, although a spokesperson for the service confirmed that the uniform was still being developed.

The official uniform prototype, revealed at the Air Force Associations Air Space & Cyber ​​Conference, is much more surprising when you remember that just a few months ago, Major General DeAnna Burt, commander of Joint Space Components Command, was inducted into Forced Space with cosplayers dressed as like Imperial Stormtroopers. (A Space Force spokesperson clarified at the time that the stormtroopers weren’t actually part of the ceremony, and were only costumed volunteers.)

The new uniform looks less traditional than the rest of the service especially the Army’s WWII-era Pink and Green uniform with diagonal buttons of the Space Force crest and high collar. While not much additional information about the outfit’s uniforms was immediately available, General John Raymond, head of space operations, said that the Space Force also test their own PT uniform.

So yes, the Space Force’s new outfit uniform gives us a “Stars Wars” inspired Galactic Empire vibe. But really, can you honestly expect US Space Force Guards to show up in space or wherever other Guards might find themselves in a smaller space?
