The crew has been busy over the past few days setting up the site for a two-day festival featuring a lineup of contemporary Canadian rock artists led by Arkells on Friday, and The Glorious Sons on Saturday.

While music fans from across the region will surely be enthusiastic about the live entertainment, the weather forecast for the weekend isn’t ideal.

Friday evening there will be light rain with temperatures around 15 C, while for Saturday the forecast is also rain with the same temperature and light rain.

With this in mind, the Timmins Festival and Events Committee offers some tips for concertgoers heading to the park.

The ground is a little uneven, we’re not talking sloppy Woodstock, but it’s definitely three weeks of uneven rain. Please dress accordingly. Really, wearing boots, your feet WILL get WET. Nobody likes heavy rain, read some of the TFEC advice on their social media pages.

Several members of the setup crew told The Daily Press on Thursday afternoon that the current state of the grass isn’t too bad, but with rain forecast, that could change quickly.

Umbrellas will not be allowed into the festival, so TFEC advises visitors to bring raincoats or raincoats.

In addition, items such as chairs, coolers, large bags and cameras will not be allowed upon entry. No outside food or drink either.

All visitors are required to complete a COVID-19 screening prior to entry. With this in mind, the public is asked to remain patient and courteous with staff, and arrive early, as queues may move slowly.

As per provincial regulations, masks or face coverings will be required at all times other than consuming food and drink.
