Alison Hammond ‘won’t stop wearing sexy clothes or having sex with men’

The This Morning star says she feels sorry for the less confident plus-size women who would rather hide themselves out of sight than embrace their lives fully.

Alison Hammond says she feels sorry for other plus-size women who are too shy to swim, or wear sexy clothes, or even have sex because of their body concerns.

The 46-year-old TV presenter says she loves her own body despite spending years changing her figure.

Alison, who is size 28, landed a job as a presenter on ITV in 2003 after she starred in the series three Big Brother and was asked to take part in the diet show that started her presentation career which now sees her hosting This Morning one day a week.

She then tried to lose weight by putting on gastric bands, but had to take them off after her body resisted and in the last year was forced to change her exercise routine and diet after she developed pre-diabetes during lockdown.

But opening up about her body and her outlook on life to amazing magazine, Alison says she loves her body, and hopes other bigger women will develop the same level of confidence she has.

Explaining to her that you only live once, Alison said: In my head, I’m slim. There’s a skinny woman here with a lot of fat around her. I didn’t realize how big I was until I was next to someone. But I’m beautiful and a fun person, and I know that. I’m not one of those people who hate myself. I actually love myself.

People get very angry, but what do they expect from us? Go and hide under rocks until we get to the size they want? I know people who do.

“They won’t go swimming because of how they look. How sad is that? You could get hit by a bus tomorrow. I’m not going to stop my life. I love the fact that everything is so diverse and different.

Alison, who has been the target of online trolls because of her weight, said she thought it was great to have a different body shape on screen but didn’t understand the anger some people directed at her only when she was herself.

However, she adds that she is challenging in her approach to her own appearance and won’t let other people’s opinions bring her down.

The cover of Alisons Fabulous magazine launched last Friday before it became available last Sunday and the headline photo left her This Morning co-stars in awe.

The former reality show star looked stunning in a leopard print suit and black dress, while one of the alternative cover photos showed her sitting on a chair in all black.

This Morning Chef Phil Vickery said the cover was hot, while co-star Dermot OLeary said he looked great.
