1. Her love for mini skirts started young

I really like my short skirt so I can run and catch the bus. I see no reason why my childhood wouldn’t last forever, an old sketch Quant recalls. And indeed, it was in her childhood that the seeds of her love for short skirts were planted.

Raised in Pembrokeshire, Wales, Quant described his childhood as blissful. His parents, two godparents and his brother had to move around a lot during the war, which, the designer recalls, made him feel as if they were being expelled from one school to another.

At the age of three, the aspiring designer becomes really self-conscious about clothes, having realized that certain pieces just don’t suit her. It was only a few years until anyone realized that from this dispute, a star was born.
