Constantly changing seasonal clothes is dizzying enough (sorry, but I prefer to spend that time watching Netflix and eating a plate of pasta), so when I can find a piece that works year-round, I’m fully prepared. Not only does it make economic sense, but it’s also a lot more rewarding to be able to rely on my favorite staples working in the off-season and spikes in temperature. This means clothing that feels relevant in a variety of settings, such as casual get-togethers and office events—including multiple time zones. In that vein, I’ve seen the pieces that stylish people from New York and LA are wearing today. To my surprise, both tribes were interested in the same thing.
Right now in New York, the temperature is 50 degrees. Meanwhile, three time zones away in sunny LA, people haven’t really come out of the dry heat yet. When it comes to versatility, there’s really no better evidence for the seasonless appeal of an item than the fact that it can be worn on both beaches—at the same time. For a full report on the findings that appear to work under any circumstances, keep scrolling ahead.
