In her own words, Taylor Swift did nothing better than revenge. The 31-year-old singer is currently reaping huge success and critical acclaim on his latest re-recording, Red (Taylor Version), and the short film he wrote and directed for a 10-minute version of the fan-favorite song, “All Too Well.”
Albums and short films mark some of the sweetest levels of revenge. There is revenge that the continued success of Taylor’s re-recording project against Scooter Braun, whose acquisition of the master rights in 2019 inspired the move. Then, of course, there’s the revenge seen by Twitter against Jake Gyllenhaal, who is widely believed to be the inspiration behind “All Too Well.”
During Thursday’s interview on Late Night with Seth Meyer, the host asked Taylor to take her opinion on “people who might think they’re the ones you sing to, if it was easier or a lot worse for them 10 years later.”
Taylor’s answer is perhaps even more brutal than the lyrics of “All Too Well” (which, TBH, seems unlikely): “To be honest, I haven’t thought about their experience.”
“That’s the biggest burn,” Seth replied. “I don’t think anyone would prefer them to hear.”

All this to say that it’s *very* fitting that, during that interview with Seth Meyers, Taylor channeled the most iconic revenge lewk of all time—Princess Diana’s 1994 “revenge dress”—during her press blitz campaign. Red (Taylor Version) and All Too Good: Short Film.

Unfortch, as stunning as this Swiftie theory is, Taylor has denied a deliberate nod to Diana’s vengeful display.
“It’s just a black dress I like,” she said Hollywood Access (per insider) when asked about Diana’s connections.
