Simpson and his mother owned 37.5% of the brand when Sequential began removing the brand from its portfolio after filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in August.

Sequential purchased 62.5% of the Jessica brand, which sells clothing, shoes, accessories, in 2015 from the Camuto Group.
