Billy Porter Says Virgil Abloh Is Doing A Lot For Diversity In Fashion

Virgil Abloh is a game changer in the fashion world, but not just for her designs — she’s also committed to bringing diversity to the industry … according to Billy Porter.

BP was at Dulles International Airport on Tuesday when we thought about it Virgil died … which rocked the fashion world and beyond. Like most others who got sad and sudden news, Billy was just as shocked.

We asked Billy what Virgil means to culture, and he told us there’s a big shift right now in the fashion industry towards more diversity and inclusion — and he gave Virgil a great tool to trigger it.

Seeing as how Virgil was the first black man in history to be appointed to lead the Louis Vuitton menswear line, it goes without saying that he’s done a lot in that regard… and Billy is emphasizing that here.

BTW, Billy just landed from overseas, where it looks like he’s at a fashion awards show — and it seems the people there are just as saddened by Virgil’s passing as they are here in America.
