Marta Ortega had enough for a week. Quickly following news of his ascension to the throne of fashion giant retailer Indetix, the daughter of the company’s founder also hosted the international arts and fashion community with Benjamin Lindbergh for a soirée to celebrate the late Peter Lindbergh’s first major exhibition in A Coruna, Spain.
Entitled “Peter Lindbergh: Untold Stories,” the exhibition is a retrospective of the photographer’s four-decade career carefully curated by Lindbergh himself, shortly before his death in 2019. More than 150 images span the exhibition walls and vividly capture the majesty of Lindbergh’s enduring effect on world of fashion and photography.
In attendance was Naomi Campbell, who posed beside and admired photos of Lindbergh’s original supermodels, including Linda Evangelista, Kate Moss, and Naomi herself. Creative directors Pierpaolo Piccioli and Claire Waight Keller snapped various cinematic black-and-white portraits of Lindbergh while Emmanuelle Alt and David Chipperfield were seen nearby.
After viewing the exhibition in person, guests enjoyed cocktails and appetizers prepared by chef Albert Adria. Dinner, prepared by Galician Chef Culler de Pau, was then served while British singer Lianne La Havas sang songs for the evening’s guests. In short, the celebration wasn’t just glamorous: it was emotional and full of sentiment shared by the community who knew the famous photographer best. Lindbergh has spent her life celebrating the lives of many participants through her photographic eye. Maybe for that night, it was their turn to celebrate.
