How Kaya Scodelario Prepared for The Fashion Awards Eight and Half Months Pregnant

Going to an awards show is an event that eight and a half months pregnant is unlikely to attend, but actor Kaya Scodelario was groomed for the Fashion Awards in London. “I wish I hadn’t given birth,” she said Mode in a new video. “But if I do, [it] wouldn’t be the worst thing to show up in full luxury to the maternity ward.” Her husband was waiting near the Royal Albert Hall in London with a hospital bag, just in case.

But all went well for Scodelario. She wore a silver Bora Aksu dress and Gina heels for a “pregnant nutcracker” vibe. “I didn’t want to do the stereotypical maternity dress, as you can see,” she said. “Definitely not for the British Fashion Awards. I wanted something fun and tense. Kate Moss is my idol, so I’m trying to imagine what she’ll be wearing to the Fashion Awards.” The mini baby doll dress featured metallic silver lining and tulle, chunky sleeves tied with a bow at the shoulders, and a flowing neckline (we think Moss would be proud). While makeup artist Gina Kane applied smokey eye makeup and bare lips and hairstylist Eamonn Hughes curled her hair into stellar waves, Scodelario recalled attending BAFTA with skin cast in 2009. He and his co-star Hannah Murray later picked up the Radio Times Audience Award, and realized that the show they attended had become a sensation. “We don’t know how popular it is, internationally, in particular,” he said. About what sets the British awards show apart, Scodelario said, “The British ones are fun; there is more liquor,” he said with a laugh. “I can’t drink tonight, so this will be my first hangover awards show.”

As the glam team put the finishing touches to the Scodelario look, which was styled by Leith Clark, the actor tried to come up with his plans for the evening. “I thought I could turn into a pumpkin in the middle of the night,” he said. But it depends on one person in particular: “It depends on the baby, whether he wants to party or not.”
