The 43-year-old has just launched his Pre-Fall 2022 womenswear collection consisting of different dresses fit for the Bat Mitzvah season in Orlando, leopard print puffers and, for some reason, jeggings.

This completely ridiculous collection also introduces Plein’s first line of costume jewelry, a series of faux gold chains that would make Coco Chanel — the godmother of costume jewelry — swoon.

Speaking of people who will be offended by Plein’s latest work, it seems the German designer is looking to Daniel Lee for inspiring handbag it’s basically a cross between Bottega Veneta’s cassette wallet and Chain Pouch.

Other highlights from Pre-Fall 2022: maxi dresses with cutouts at the thighs and calves (Plein sure knows how to flatter a woman’s body!), Outerwear and shoppers with Basquiat-style illustrations, and faux fur coats stamped with Plein’s no de guerre : PP.

In an interview with WWD, Plein said this season aims to “have stuff that people can actually wear,” suitable for “real women, not just 20-year-old Instagram models or influencers.”

Has awakening finally come for Plein, who ever a journalist who humiliates the body on negative reviews?

However, the main gem of the chat was the designer’s eloquent summary of Philipp Plein’s customers: “Our woman goes to the gym and hangs out with her friends at home or goes to parties.”
