Houston fashion gurus unveil the 5 hottest holiday looks for 2021

The uncertain chaos we have seen the past few years is slowly coming to an end, and after many unusual celebrations, family, friends, and annual holiday gatherings continue safely throughout Bayou City.

Ahead of the excitement, CultureMap turns to creative director Tootsies Fady Armanious for fete fashion inspiration, stylist-approved ideas, and haute holiday trends.

Classic holiday colors

“We see a lot of traditional colors like green, red, and sparkles,” Armanious tells CultureMap. “That’s what you think of when the holidays come to mind.” Armanious also notes that classic and long dresses are making a comeback. “We’re having a hard time keeping them, especially with global materials and shipping delays,” he said.

Setting up a monochromatic look doesn’t have to be difficult or intimidating. Mix different textures for an all-gold or silver outfit that’s sure to catch the eye.

Armanious tells CultureMap that sparkle will make anyone stand out in a crowd. Transformed into Halston, Alice + Olivia, Sachin and Pig, and Marchesa Notte for holiday sequins.

Fun textures

Slip dresses don’t have to be boring. In fact, they simply aren’t—especially with feather trimmings or accents. “We see a lot of feathers this holiday season,” Armanious said.

Enhance your holiday look with Rixo, Aidan Mattox, or base for feathered dresses and stylish tops. “Velvet is also great for holidays,” says Armanious.

Frame and Veronica’s beard has a variety of blazers and velvet pants that can be worn together or separately.

Luxury boots

With today’s estimated 80 degrees of temperature and high humidity, wearing knee-high boots is impractical. Armanious suggests booties from Isabel Marant, page, Valentino, Sam Edelman, Stuart Weitzman, Kat Macione, and Paris Texas.
