The Baltimore Ravens season has ended not with a bang, but with a whimper. The Ravens entered the day with the odds stacked against them.
Needing a win and three other results to get their way, it seems highly unlikely that the Ravens will be able to keep their postseason hopes alive. Moreover, with one of the results was the Jacksonville Jaguar’s two wins over the Indianapolis Colts.
But then something extraordinary happened. Jaguars got on early on the Colts and never looked back. Suddenly, the playoffs seemed to be near.
However, the Ravens still needed to handle their own business. Unfortunately, it proved to be a more difficult task than anyone could have hoped for.
The Ravens will miss the playoffs this season. They will finish below 0.500 for the first time since 2015. And they can’t blame anyone but themselves.

In a cruel and harrowing season marred by injuries and heartbreak, is there another way to end the season? The Ravens failed once again in extra-time marking their sixth straight loss, five of which came with three points or less.
That’s what happened to the Ravens this season. Every moment of optimism is immediately followed by heartbreak and disappointment.
It’s only fitting to see the Ravens fail to fight back Pittsburgh Steelers dramatically, in part due to injuries to the likes of Lamar Jackson and the rest of the secondary cast.
In many ways, the game’s ending is indicative of the entire Ravens season to date. They fought hard and did their best to overcome the odds stacked against them, but injuries and a few pesky bounces ended up costing them their way.
That’s the story of the team’s six consecutive defeats until the end of the year. And that’s the story of this game.
The Ravens will now turn their attention to the offseason which could see a lot of turnover. However, one thing is for sure—they will try to forget this cruel season in a hurry.
