Women’s ‘Bad’ DIY Bridesmaid Dresses Surprise Commenters: ‘I gasp’

A woman says in the now-viral video that she made a bridesmaid dress for her own wedding, admitting it was “very bad.”

That video posted to TikTok on January 14th by Samantha VanMeter Foreman. The post has received more than 1.2 million views and more than 86,000 likes.

The video is tuned to the popular TikTok voice that is often used in “short conversations by people reminiscing about their poor life choices,” explains Know Your Meme. The sound is from the seasons America’s Next Top Model, in which the host, Tyra Banks, said: “It’s so bad, I wanted to give you zero, but it’s impossible, so I’m giving you one.”

Usually, those who use voice reveal embarrassing photos of themselves at the end of the video. For example, Joe Jonas shared a photo of himself “high at Coachella.” Meanwhile, Ashley Tisdale shared a photo of the outfit she was wearing with Ice Princess premiered in 2005.

Foreman, on the other hand, shared a photo of one of his bridesmaids.

“Back then I was making my bridesmaid dresses and it was legit to have these girls wear these at my wedding!” read the video text overlay.

As Foreman exits the frame, viewers will see a picture of the bridesmaid wearing a DIY Forman gown, which is pink and orange and filled with tulle.

In advanced videos, Foreman said that he made the dress because he had a hard time finding a dress that suited each of his bridesmaids “the right way.”

According to The KnotHowever, brides in a similar situation should consider allowing their bridesmaids to choose their own dresses.

“If your bridesmaids have a variety of different body types and you’re having trouble finding one dress that fits all, consider choosing a color or color range and letting them choose their own gown,” says The Knot.

Foreman’s commentators were blown away by her DIY dress.

“Fortunately it’s worse than I expected,” said Katee Edwards.

“I hope you write a letter of apology to all of them,” wrote SnarahB.

“There’s really nothing you can say or do to prepare me for this ma’am. Thanks for sharing,” commented Desiree’ Michelle.

Emzieees added: “I gasped.”

“But do you even like your friend??” asked one TikToker.

Robin Barson, agreeing, added: “Girl, that’s how you know your friend is up or dead for you.”
