Popular cosplayer Anari.exe uploaded pictures of her incredible costume showingcasing the many intricate design touches. This includes the detailing on the corset, the gold trim on the military-style jacket and the character’s different colored eyes. Black Lobelia is a primary antagonist in Flower Princess Blaze!!, a fictional show in the world of My Dress-Up Darling that draws inspiration from the Magical Girl subgenre of anime and serves as the inspiration for protagonist Marin Kitagawa’s second major cosplay.

The story of My Dress-Up Darling follows the misadventures (and budding romance) of Wakana Gojo, who has a secret passion for fabricating Hina Dolls, and Kitagawa, who has a deep love for pop culture and a dream to become a famous cosplayer. Combining his sewing and clothes-making skills and her intense passion and drive, the two work together to make the best cosplays possible.

The ongoing My Dress-Up Darling series by mangaka Shinichi Fukuda first appeared in Enix’s Young Gangan magazine in January 2018, and readers from across the globe have bought over seven million copies of the series. The anime adaptation by CloverWorks, the studio behind iconic shows like Fate/Grand Order – Absolute Demonic Front: Babylonia and The Promised Neverland, premiered in January. As one of the breakout hits of the winter 2022 anime season, the Dress-Up Darling Season anime brought a wealth of new fans to the franchise. Shya Ishige (Godzilla Singular Point) and Hina Suguta (Kotaro Lives Alone) provide the voices of Gojo and Kitagawa, respectively.

Most notably, the official Twitter account for the anime announced that a sequel series is in production. Details like members of the creative team and voice cast or the official release date are not available at the time of writing; however, Fukuda released a hilarious illustration that shows Gojo and Kitagawa celebrating the news.
