Over the last few years, Facebook Marketplace has become one of the most popular online shopping platforms. But if you’re trying to start a business there, you should be aware of what Facebook will charge you.

Facebook Marketplace charges a fee to sell products

If you buy products from Facebook Marketplace, you don’t have to pay any fees. And just listing items for sale is also free.

The only time you have to pay a fee is when you are legally selling an item. After you ship your product and receive payment, Facebook takes a deduction from the final payment.

The amount Facebook takes depends on the amount of money you receive as payment:

• If you get paid $8 or lessFacebook charges a flat sales fee of $0.40.
• If you get paid over $8Facebook pick up 5% from payment.

In other words, when you sell an item for $5, Facebook will take $0.40, and your final payment will be $4.60.

If you sell $100 worth of items, they’ll take 5%, making your final payment $95.

Just note that Facebook doesn’t charge this per order, but per delivery. So if you fulfill one order that involves two separate shipments, they will charge you for each shipment, based on the cost of that individual delivery.

For example, if you ship one $5 item and another $100 item in the same order, you’ll need to pay a $5.40 fee of $0.40 for one shipment, and 5% for the other.
