HYDERABAD: This year has been the most fashionable year we’ve had so far. This statement sounds especially true when we consider how in 2022 we are starting to go through the phases of store closings, limited celebrations of high fashion festivals and sober weddings literally a nightmare for the fashion industry that thrives on social life.
But the industry has rebuilt itself with rigor, passion and grace. Toward the end of the year, the city hosts gala events such as Blenders Pride Glassware Fashion Week that showcase maximalism with sustainability. Also, many other debutant and veteran designers value maximalism even with minimal pastel colors.
Now, from the glitz of fashion shows to the real world. Local brands are more popular than ever, with their collections on par with, or better than, national and international brands. We’re seeing retro making a comeback albeit with a modern twist.
Some took it back in time even further and revived the designs driven by the Mughal and Nizam dress codes. On the other hand, some fashion forward companies are looking into their crystal ball and stepping into the future where AI is used to predict what ensembles will suit a person’s personality. For that, let’s look back at fashion in 2022!
