Who is the most fashionable of them all? Staying stylish amidst the ever-present media spotlight isn’t easy, but some female celebrities have managed to maintain an interest in their fashion choices throughout the year. And competition is fierce as the top slot is only 100 searches away.

How are top fashion icons crowned? A study conducted by frugal living expert CommonCentsMom.com analyzed Google search data for 2022 in the US for a variety of search terms related to fashion and style, including over 100 of the most fashionable female celebrities worldwide. Search terms are then combined to give each celebrity a total score to find the most fashionable woman of 2022.

1) Zendaya

American actress and singer Zendaya makes it to the top spot with terms related to Zendaya’s fashion choices an average of 21,760 times per month. Breaking it down, Americans browse Zendaya’s red carpets an average of 6,900 times a month, more than any other celebrity, and Zendaya’s dresses 4,300 times per month, according to the study.

2) Ariana Grande

Very close! Here’s what American singer, songwriter and actress Ariana Grande says are the top spots that were barely missed with just 150 monthly searches. She receives an average of 21,610 searches a month for her fashion choices, including Ariana Grande’s clothing terms, which are searched for about 12,000 times per month.

3) Billie Eilish

American singer-songwriter Billie Eilish followed closely behind, again only 50 monthly searches behind number two. Known for her baggy outfits and individualistic style, the singer receives an average of 21,560 monthly searches for terms related to her style, including 8,800 monthly searches for Billie Eilish’s clothing terms, the analysis revealed.

4) Kim Kardashian

American socialite Kim Kardashian was named the fourth most fashionable celebrity of 2022 with an average of 19,600 monthly searches for terms related to her style and fashion choices. The most popular search term Kim Kardashian dress receives an average of 5,500 searches each month.

5) Mrs. Gaga

Known for her extravagant clothing, it’s no surprise that American singer-songwriter Lady Gaga has made it into the Top Five. She receives 18,600 monthly searches for her style, with the terms Lady Gaga clothing searched 13,000 times per month and Lady Gaga fashion 2,200 times.

6) Olivia Rodrigo

The study revealed American singer-songwriter and actress Olivia Rodrigo as the sixth most fashionable celebrity of the year. Singer SIM’s style is searched 17,760 times each month across the country, with searches for Olivia Rodrigo clothing receiving 6,500 monthly global searches and the term Olivia Rodrigo dresses receiving 5,300 searches per month, were the results.

7) Kendall Jenner

Seventh place resides in the family, the Kardashians and the Jenners namely, with Kendall Jenner in the Top Ten most fashionable women of 2022 with an average monthly total of 17,350 searches for her style. The search terms Kendall Jenner dresses rank highest, with an average of 5,900 monthly searches.

8) Kate Middleton

With Princess of Wales Kate Middleton taking eighth place, it goes to a non-American and first to someone not from the entertainment industry. Known for her style, Kate Middleton’s style is the most popular search term with 2,700 Google searches every month and on average she contributes 14,300 monthly searches regarding her fashion choices.

9) Princess Diana

The next place is also occupied by a member of the British royal family, the late Princess Diana. Despite passing away in 1997, the late Princess of Wales still receives an estimated 14,160 monthly searches for her style across America. Specifically, Princess Diana’s clothing was Googled 4,100 times each month, and Princess Diana’s clothing received 3,800 searches per month, the study found.

10) Bella Hadid

American model Bella Hadid rounds out the Top Ten, receiving 12,550 average monthly searches for her style across America, especially her street style, with the term Bella Hadid’s street style being searched an average of 3,400 times each month.

The Top 20 revealed several timeless style icons such as British actress Audrey Hepburn at 11th place, followed by Barbados singer Rihanna, American rapper Doja Cat and American singers Lizzo and Britney Spears at 12th, 13th, 14th and 15th respectively.

The remaining slots are filled by American media personality Kylie Jenner, American model Hailey Bieber, former US First Lady Michelle Obama, American actress Meghan Markle and American singer-songwriter Beyonce.
