Triple H sold out the beauty in a hilarious way in 1999

Stone cold Steve Austin arguably the biggest WWE superstar of all time, while the stunner is certainly the most iconic finisher in wrestling history.

The move became synonymous with the writhing, beer-spinning Texas Rattlesnake as he shot through the stratosphere during the Attitude Era, with it hitting every member of WWE’s men’s roster in this tine.

The first and absolute stunner in Vince McMahon was particularly memorable, while The Rock oversold spectacularly. However, Three H perhaps the prettiest and funniest salesperson, for her 1999 appearance.

It was a classic post-Raw homecoming moment that has long been seared in memory

At that point, The Game and The Rattlesnake were engaged in a bitter feud that would last for the next two years, give or take Austin’s time on the sidelines with a neck injury (in the storyline, Triple H masterminded the Attitude Era hit-and-run right?)

As such, the two regularly crossed paths on weekly episodes of Raw and SmackDown, while dark segments (for live viewers only) often provided memorable homecoming moments for paying viewers.

This isn’t any more evident than in the clip below, in which Austin goes about his usual routine of offering his rivals a beer to close out the night before knocking them out gorgeously once they start drinking it. Immortal, really.

However, in this case, Triple H sold it perhaps like never before or after, flying backwards over the top rope and out. Of particular interest is the fact that he spat out beer as soon as he hit the ground.

The Rock and Scott Hall rivaled The Game for best sales ever

Even at just five seconds, Triple H’s sales brilliance was for all to see, as was the audience’s instant reaction to the delivery of the stunner. This is really a brilliant move.

The comments left under the tweet were equally exaggerated in their praise, with some calling it the best ever. The Rock and Scott Hall (WrestleMania 18) might have something to say about that.

What’s next for Stone Cold Steve Austin?

Hopefully these two career rivals will meet once again this year, with Triple H orchestrating the match, storyline, and corner for another Stone Cold WrestleMania match.

Who he will face remains unclear, but a list of potential opponents is listed here. Could any of them sell a stunner like The Game?
