As the wedding ceremony progressed, the North Country bride and groom headed to the 31st annual Bridal Expo

WATERTOWN, New York (WWNY) – For some, the wedding day means having the perfect ring, the perfect dress, and the perfect party.

Destin and Kristy are on their way to getting married.

It was definitely time, we spent a lot of time together, and I knew that I wanted to be with him, said Destin Bougeious.

The pair have been dating since 2018.

Destin says he got down on one knee in August. The couple said the 31st Annual Northern New York Bridal Show was the first of many events before their big day.

“We’re just trying to figure out where we want to do it, and how we’re going to do it, and when we’re going to do it,” said Bougeious.

And try to save money, says Kristy Gloude.

The fair, organized by Tunes 92.5, featured 60 vendors and 170 couples from the North Country and Central New York area.

Best Party and Balloon owner, Andrea Nino-Kunkoski, says she tries her best to come up with a deal that fits into people’s budgets.

I try to accommodate everyone, and it’s a budget-friendly solution, which is again on trend, and it’s pretty and clean. I put in a lot of work, a lot of passion, said Nino-Kunkoski.

He said he came up with the idea for his business during the COVID-19 pandemic. It was launched a year ago, and so far it’s doing well. But he hopes 2023 comes with a lot more.

My goal is to become one of the top balloon decoration providers in the area. I am very dedicated, and I think my work is an extension of my personality, who I am, my work ethic, said Nino-Kunkoski.

Many weddings have been postponed due to COVID-19, and according to The Marriage Report, 2.5 million couples are expected to marry in 2022, that’s 15% higher than usual, and vendors say that 2023 is also the year to say I do.

We are so busy, our calendars are so full, so excited that people are finally ready to have their weddings, have bigger functions, said Heather Gill of SnapshotsNNY.

Besides that, saying yes to the dress is one of the most memorable moments for a bride when planning a wedding.
