JW Anderson Milan Fashion Week 2023 Fall Mens – Footwear News

Jonathan Anderson delivered another unique collection for his eponymous label JW Anderson on Sunday.

For this collection, the designer gave the outfits a bit of a light touch, opting to send models down the runway in shorts – some holding long rolls of tweed, or hugging pillows. Standout items include shearling blousons with ruffled fronts, leather jeans with a large SIM card in place of the anchor tag, and a tubular toggle coat in S&M colors.

For footwear, Anderson focuses on two styles in a variety of colorways. New leather wrestling boots with front zip and pad lock detail. The other one, which he previewed online last week, is a pair of frog-shaped clogs.

As previously reported, Anderson took to social media last week to tease his new frog clogs. The designer posted a photo of the new clog style made to look like a frog to his personal Instagram account with the simple caption, “Milan @jwanderson @wellipets.”

Similarly, on JW Anderson’s Instagram, a short video was posted of someone trying out a new frog-faced mule, this time without captions.

The upload, of course, reaped a lot of reactions on social media. Musician Sam Smith commented on JW Anderson’s post with “SCREAMING,” followed by fellow singer Erykah Badu by writing, “Need.” On Anderson’s personal Instagram, actor Dan Levy commented with an exclamation point, and male model RJ King added, “Yes please!”

Wellipets, known for its original wellington boots, is dedicated to “restoring and maintaining” the ecosystem of the frog’s habitat, according to its website. Founded in the United Kingdom in 1983, Wellipets bills itself as the first rain boot to blend the traditional wellington rain boot design with a playful element, namely the frog.

In her event notes, Anderson wrote that Wellipets became famous in Britain when Princess Diana dressed her young sons, Princes William and Harry, in the brand’s signature frog-shaped wellington shoes. Now, the brand is looking to “live those happy memories” in adult men’s and women’s sizes, and will be available in three color variations – green, yellow and blue. The collaboration is scheduled to drop in April.
