Raiders Rumor: Tom Brady Will Be Chased ‘in Some Mode’ Amidst Derek Carr Trade Buzz | News, Scores, Highlights, Stats and Rumors

The Las Vegas Raiders may be looking towards an all-time great at the end of this season.

“The belief around the league is that the Las Vegas Raiders are going to catch Tom Brady in some way,” ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler said in a statement. Sports center. “They have a familiarity with Josh McDaniels and they know what they’re getting into there.”

Las Vegas is expect to move on from Derek Carr at the end of this season, which would put him in the market for a new midfielder.

Jonathan Jones of CBS Sports previously reported the Raiders “plan to be very aggressive in their pursuit” of the future Hall of Famer with “the prevailing belief around the league” that he will play and fit for a different team than the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2023.

Fowler noted that the Buccaneers “will try” to keep Brady, so Las Vegas may have competition from the incumbent team.

The Raiders may have an advantage that other teams don’t because of McDaniels’ presence as head coach. He was an assistant on the New England Patriots for 18 years from 2001 to 2008 and again from 2012 to 2021 and primarily as offensive coordinator and linebacker coach.

He and Brady helped lead the Patriots to six Super Bowl titles during that span as one of the greatest dynasties the NFL has ever seen.

That version of Brady is likely unavailable later this season considering he turns 46 in August, but he’s still effective at some point in 2022 while completing 66.8 percent of his passes for 4,694 yards, 25 touchdowns, and nine interceptions.

That was a step back from when he led the league with 5,316 passing yards and 43 touchdown shooting in 2021, and Tampa Bay is down from 13-4 to 8-9. Still, he’s proven he can hit most pitches and is about to get a fresh start in Las Vegas.

The Raiders are one of the league’s most underwhelming teams in 2022, failing to live up to the high expectations set in place by the acquisition of wide receiver Davante Adams.

Carr has always put up solid stats, but the team hasn’t won a playoff game since selecting him with a second-round pick in the 2014 NFL draft. Seems to be going in a different direction late this season as they look to turn things around after a 6-11 campaign.

And that direction may be toward the quarterback with more postseason success than anyone else.
