In order to participate in this season’s CPHFW, brands must meet a series of sustainability requirements with respect to their collections. Backstage, designers talk about certification, deadstock and recycling, but the change is nowhere to be seen on the home front, where the focus is on the fantastic clothing and venues this fashion week is famous for.

The Nordics are chilly, and with electricity prices soaring, there’s been a lot of emphasis on warmth this season; knitwear and outerwear were everywhere and the shearling and soft texture of teddy bears was all the rage. As the planet warms, snow seems increasingly elusive, and designers are looking to the slopes for inspiration; there are plenty of winter whites too. Designers are also nostalgic for Rave’s loose, 80s-shoulder silhouette seen in collections and on the streets. The once-ubiquitous print dresses seem to be in hibernation, but the artsy patterns persist, now they’re trying on winter jackets.
