Men’s Golf Heads to Nevada for Lake Las Vegas Intercollegiate

TAMPA, FLA., February 25, 2023 – The USF men’s golf team will compete in Henderson, Nev. Monday through Wednesday at The Lake Las Vegas Intercollegiate.

The 54-hole tournament, the Bulls’ second spring, will be played at Reflection Bay Golf Club (Par-72, 7.20 Yards) and hosted by Coastal Carolina University. The field includes Louisiana, Arkansas State, Arkansas-Little Rock, Rocky Mountain, Winthrop, Middle Tennessee State, Alabama Birmingham, Michigan, Pacific, Kansas, New Mexico State, Central Arkansas, Kansas City, Stetson and Long Beach.

Head coach Steve Bradley announced the following lineup for the Bulls:

1. Sam Nicholson (Jr., Atlantic Beach, Florida)
2. Shubham Jagan (So., Delhi, India)
3. Go after Gullikson (So, Orlando, Fla.)
4. Jake Peacock (So, Milton, Ga.)
5. Nino Palmquist (Fr., Halmstad, Sweden)

LAST OUT TIME

The Bulls last competed in the Florida Gator Invitational where they opened the spring and finished 6th^th of 15. Three Bulls placed in the top 15 individually to help USF tally a total of 54 holes 854 (+14) on a 14-team course competing at the Mark Bostick Golf Course (Par 70, 6,701 yards).

USF is led by juniors Sam Nicholson (Atlantic Beach, Florida) who finished eighth having lapsed 68, 69 and 73 for an even par total of 210.

He was joined in the top 15 by sophomores Jake Peacock (Milton, Ga.) and Shubham Jagan (Delhi, India). Peacock finished tied for ninth with a 1-over par 211 total after posting 70 in the final round. Butcher series for 14^th at 3-over par, 213, shot 69 in the second half.

USF’s men’s golf program has claimed 17 conference titles and has seen players earn 19 All-America honors. The Bulls have won five American Athletic Conference Tournament championships wire-to-wire, winning four in a row from 2015-18. The Bulls have four individual conference champions, incl Albin Bergstrom in 2021, and resulted in nine consecutive NCAA Regional appearances, including 6^th finishing place in NCAA Championship game play in 2015. USF is led by Steve Bradleywho has been named five times as the American Athletic Conference Coach of the Year since taking over the program in 2014. The Bulls have notched up 20 tournament wins under Bradley going into the 2022–23 season, by far the most under any coach in program history.
