Vivienne Westwood fashion house pays tribute to the late founder at the Paris show

PARIS (Reuters) Fashion label Vivienne Westwood paid tribute to its late founder on Saturday, hitting the catwalk in Paris with a collection created by her husband and design partner Andreas Kronthaler.

Models sauntered through the Hotel de la Marine’s gilded halls overlooking the Place de la Concorde in a line of punk chic for the Paris Fashion Week show.

Playing with volume, the tailored coat features thick shoulders and broad sleeves, while the line on the sweatpants curves inward at the bottom instead of running straight down the leg.

One look combines a patchwork of floral patterns, with a wide hooded cape worn over a sleek, form-fitting skirt worn with soaring platform heels, as rock band AC/DC perform a TNT song blaring in the background.

Closing the show was a traditional bridal attire, with Kronthaler accompanying Westwood’s granddaughter Cora Corre, who wore an ivory lacy body suit with platform boots to match.

Dozens of punk-clad fans gathered to see the arrivals, including fashion designer Jean-Paul Gaultier and actor Jared Leto.

London Fashion Week, held last month, is dedicated to Westwood, one of the biggest names in British fashion, who is best known for the punk band Sex Pistols. He died in December aged 81.
