Cats Record Eight Wins on Kittley’s Last Day

ABILENE – Abilene Christian capped her first meeting of the outdoor season on Saturday in strong fashion, claiming eight event wins while hosting the Wes Kittley Invitational.

“That’s a very good start,” said the ACU Head Coach Jerrod Koki. “But it’s not where we start that matters; it’s where we finish. We have a lot to work on and I think everyone knows that. It was a good meeting, but it was just the beginning.”

ACU women catch five events while men claim three events.

Yes Dasia Sims had a great day, won the high jump at 5-6 and anchored the 4×400 relay win, for teammates Savanna Walk, Shabbat Ja’Kaylon And Courtney Latham.

Paige Boucher won 100 hurdles in 14.45 seconds.

Kailey Roskop won the hammer throw with a throw of 166 feet, 9 inches.

Payton Kirk won the long jump, clearing 19-6.25.

Irene Rono won the first event of the meet on Friday, claiming 1500 in 4:38,54.

William Harris won the men’s double jump with a score of 48-9.5.

Tyler Richardson led the pitchers with wins in shooting 59-2.75.

Gabe Embree won the men’s 3000 tower pursuit at 9:41.2.

The Wildcats return to action next week at the Masked Rider Open at Texas Tech.
