NFL Draft Styles: The best styles and styles of NFL draft prospects

We have been waiting for months, and the day has finally come. We’re about to get the answers to the biggest questions on every NFL fan’s mind.

What will players wear on draft night?

We’ve seen draft mode evolve over the years. Here’s a rundown of the most memorable (which sometimes means stylish, original, and meaningful, and sometimes looking at you, Brett Favre means funny) fashion picks of the years, and check back Thursday night for a running list of the best-fits and pin styles from the rounds. the first in the 2023 NFL Draft.

Bijin Robinson, RB, Texas

Big W here. It’s a classic black double-breasted suit with a black turtleneck, a heavy-soled Louis Vuitton loafer that balances the slim suit, a lapel pin for good luck, and a chain that, because of the understated look of the suit, becomes the focal point of the overall fit without overwhelming it. It exudes class, and Robinson looks like the man who believes he’ll walk off the board early tonight.

Bryce Young, QB, Alabama

I love the cast, but hate the game here. Color? Very beautiful. Cutting? Perfect. Tie? He didn’t wear them, and he didn’t need a white T-shirt. Shoe? The perfect complement to the overall look. But I don’t understand why the jacket looks like it has a loincloth attached to it. Young absolutely would have been the winner on draft night, but the loincloth situation made her fashion mom L. Bryce, however, was the clear winner in a gorgeous off-the-shoulder black gown with white floral accents.

CJ Stroud, QB, Ohio State

I’m a lifelong Ohio State fan, so it was clear to me that Stroud chose the blue suit for draft night.

Blue is my favorite color, but it still makes money all day, he said on the NFL Network. OK, I’ll give it a go.

Jeff Berckes, The Windy City Gridiron

The suit itself is classic cut in a simple navy color, but Stroud says he likes lots of color. That’s where Blue the Great artist comes in. She added a subtle yet beautiful splash of color to the suit, turning what may have been a fairly basic look into a personalized piece of art. Sparkly black shoes and diamond pendant No. 7 on the heavy chain completes the look. Win.

Jackson Smith-Njigba, WR, State of Ohio

Smith-Njigba may be the best wide receiver in this year’s draft, and his outfit may also be the best of the night. The Ohio State product walked the red carpet wearing a Hugo boss suit in pale pink with a very subtle pattern, accessorized with Prada loafers and a Prada belt. Her mother was wearing a gorgeous gold evening gown, and her father was wearing a classic, elegant black suit. As a family, their collective performance might be the biggest W of the night.

Will Levis, QB, Kentucky

At first glance, Levis is wearing a navy blue suit that is quite boring. But on closer inspection, it’s a three-piece suit laced with pocket squares, and the suit has a very understated diamond pattern. A white shirt with French cuffs lifts the whole look. Win for sure.

Christian Gonzales, CB, Oregon

Gonzalez is wearing a white double-breasted suit that appears to have some color in the lining, but he said on NFL Network that he’s saving the big reveal for later, perhaps when his name is called. She paired the suit with white sneakers with red stars. Her all-white look is subtle, and she has a long, lean cornerback body that could pull a suit all out. Again victory.

Will Anderson, EDGE, Alabama

The best player in tonight’s draft showed up in a blue pinstripe suit and lots of bling. If you have any questions about how this guy is so explosive on the court, look to the fact that his quads barely fit in his perfectly tailored pants. Her suit is a nice blue with bold lines, and she completed the look with two large gold brooches with her initials, WA. Or maybe it stands for Win. Again.

Anthony Richardson, QB, Florida

The Florida quarterback and draft darling walked the red carpet in a gray suit over a white turtleneck with a white pocket square. The best part of her performance? The lining of the jacket says, I want to be a legend. His younger brother wore a similar suit over a black turtleneck. It’s a classic look for these two, and extra points for the family synergy. Win.

Jalen Carter, DT, Georgia

It gives spring; it gives rebirth. Lavender was a bold choice and Carter rocked it. The square pocket, black with a hint of blue, adds another pop of color, and a deeper purple turtleneck provides balance. Carter, who had a pre-draft period marred by a poor pro day showing and, more importantly, misdemeanor charges for reckless driving and racing stemming from an accident in which one of his former UGA teammates and team staff died, must have looked to the draft as an opportunity for a fresh start. The suit communicates that. Who knows how off-the-field worries will affect her draft stock, but she’s a winner on the red carpet.

Jordan Addison, WR, USC

Jordan Addison got an infinite number of fire emojis from me on this one. The pink is gorgeous, the cut is perfect, and the lining of the jacket? This guy is about to secure the bag of rookie deals, and he knows it. Everything about this suit is a win.

Zay Flowers, WR, Boston University

There’s no way around it: WR shows up tonight. It’s a fairly classic Boston College tuxedo look with a vintage-looking bow tie, but the lining of the jacket, apparently filled with Flowers photos of loved ones, makes the look pop. Big win.

Brett Favre, 1991 NFL Draft

Long before he allegedly conned Mississippi’s welfare system, Brett Favre was lying in bed in his jean shorts and a white, pocketed T-shirt chatting with the Falcons about what looked like the first iteration of the wireless phone during the 1991 NFL Draft.

Somehow, the background mode is almost as spectacular as Favre’s outfit. Bangs! Spray painted shirt! But Favre takes the cake.

Leon Sandcastle, 2014 NFL Draft

Deion Sanders set a new standard for the NFL draft fashion in 1989 in the black, white, and gold tracksuit and chain he wore when he was drafted overall by the Atlanta Falcons. Once a trendsetter, his black three-piece suit with a hot pink shirt for the 2014 draft while cosplaying as draft nominee Leon Sandcastle was also pretty chic by 2014 standards.

Ezekiel Elliott, 2016 NFL Draft

If you remember watching Ezekiel Elliott dominate opponents on running back during his college career at Ohio State, you may also remember his signature appearance on the court wearing his jersey as a crop top (until the NCAA banned it in 2015). It’s a tradition he carried into the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft, when he wore a button-down shirt with subtle checks that made into a crop top under his light blue jacket for a memorable draft day ensemble.

Lamar Jackson, 2018 NFL Draft

The Gucci suit, shoes, bow tie and shirt with UFO references I believe Jackson’s amazingly talented 2018 Lamar Jackson’s amazingly talented 2018 draft performance.

Garett Bolles, 2020 NFL Draft

Honestly, I don’t care what you wear: If you step out onto the NFL Draft stage when your name is called with your adorable little baby dressed as your Mini-Me, you’re a winner in my book. Bolles opted for a classic gray suit with stripes when he was selected by the Denver Broncos in 2020, and the little guy wore a suit to match with a little gray vest. A++++++++.

Ikem Ekwonu, 2022 NFL Draft

This is one of my all-time favorite clothing drafts. First of all, it’s well-designed for the 64,320-pound Ekwonus frame. The green trim details are unique and really stand out against the white suit fabric. And most importantly, the color scheme reflects the Nigerian flag and is a tribute to Ekwonus Nigeria’s heritage. It is an expression of great personal style with significant meaning behind it.
