The capsule fashion collection is on display at the Bowes Museum

A pair of Christian Louboutin heels, black strappy Jimmy Choo sandals, and a Versace cat-heeled satin mule were showcased on the Barnard Castle grounds thanks to retired Berwick upon Tweed businesswoman, Pamela Brewis, who had donated a number of items from her wardrobe.

She bought some items from boutiques and department stores in the Northeast and others were gifts from her husband Thomas, such as the pink Moschino skirt suit with pearl studs she wore on her honeymoon in Portugal, pictured.

The exhibition, 20th Century Passion for Fashion, showcases items of clothing and footwear that Pamela purchased or made in the 1980s, 90s and early 2000s.

Every item in my collection has a special memory, which is why I saved it and want to keep it, says Pamela. I know that the Bowes Museum has the skill and expertise to preserve it.

It feels a bit odd to honestly collect these items secretly for the last 40 years, carefully store them without knowing what will become of them, to now know that they will be getting their time in the spotlight.
